Why DIYers Need A Designer!

There are so many moving parts to a home project, it's important to know which ones you can do and which ones you should do. Our clients in Powell had a plan to finish their basement but wanted to do the construction on their own. Their dad is retired and loves a good DIY project so he planned to come and spend a couple of months helping them with this project.
We have worked with them on a few projects with contractors so when it came to finishing their basement on their own they immediately reached out to ND for assistance.
By working with Natassja they were able to source the right contractors to create their ideal stained concrete, update their HVAC, and painting their walls and ceilings. They were also able to work with Natassja on a layout that helped them best utilize their space, save on materials using her trade discounts, gain insight on what materials would work best in their space, and last but not least they were able to have a full install at the end of their hard work. Natassja was able to point out details like a copper foot rail or custom iron and glass shelves from Iron Abode that really pulled the space together.
Our flat rate design services gave our clients the peace of mind that that they had someone in their corner helping with decision making. Decision making fatigue is very real; a renovation has more parts that you recognize at first glance. From lighting to storage and everything in between designers love the details and can help narrow down your selections based on your budget and wants/needs! Having a designer in your corner while you are working on a DIY project will not only save you money it will save your sanity!
In the end, our clients did an incredible job of constructing this space ( so good we wish we could hire them for our own projects)! Check out the photos and see for yourself.
